Welcome Turtle Families!

Welcome to our daily blog! We use it to share daily updates on our classroom, reflections on our learning with children, and photographs. We are so excited that so many people are sharing in the Turtle Day! Extended family, friends, neighbors, educators, etc, are also encouraged to follow the blog!
One of the wonderful aspects of blogging is that it allows real-time interaction between home and school. Is your child talking about what we are doing in school? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you interested (or even an expert!) in something we are studying? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you planning an outing with your child to extend the classroom learning? Leave us a comment and invite other families along!
We also have a section call, "Learn More About..." When we write each post, we tag it with relevant topics. And so if you wanted to see what we have been doing with, for instance, science, you would click on that tag, and see all the posts about science.

Climbing Higher and Higher!

I believe that if the Turtles really did have a beanstalk that went up to the clouds they would be able to climb it. Today we practiced on a couple different trees:

We also added marbles to our paint mixing explorations:

And finally, there were Movement with Missy Shenanigans, including the limbo and an obstacle course that the Turtles got to design themselves:

The Baby Chicks Arrived in Kindergarten!

Today we got to visit the Kindergarten, where a most amazing sight awaited us! Eight tiny fluffy chicks, just hatched in the last couple of days were being kept warm in their brooder box!

We also went to the Triangle Gym with the Little Frogs, donning our boots and raincoats to protect us from the drizzle. The Turtles were undeterred by the wet weather, as you can hear:

In the Triangle Gym, we danced with scarves played catch with various balls, had snack and revisited our new favorite game: "What Time Is It, Mr. Fox?"

Chemical Reactions, aka The Making of Flubber

The Turtles have been fascinated by chemical reactions in recent weeks, from flour and water to baking soda and vinegar. Today we returned to a chemical reaction we had experimented with earlier in the year: glue and borax! It was like magic to see the diluted glue and borax solution reaction, forming the magical goopy flubber!

Once it was mixed, flubber hijinx ensued!
