Welcome Turtle Families!

Welcome to our daily blog! We use it to share daily updates on our classroom, reflections on our learning with children, and photographs. We are so excited that so many people are sharing in the Turtle Day! Extended family, friends, neighbors, educators, etc, are also encouraged to follow the blog!
One of the wonderful aspects of blogging is that it allows real-time interaction between home and school. Is your child talking about what we are doing in school? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you interested (or even an expert!) in something we are studying? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you planning an outing with your child to extend the classroom learning? Leave us a comment and invite other families along!
We also have a section call, "Learn More About..." When we write each post, we tag it with relevant topics. And so if you wanted to see what we have been doing with, for instance, science, you would click on that tag, and see all the posts about science.

Happy Birthday Sadie!

Today was Sadie's Birthday! We sang her Happy Birthday, and all enjoyed the blue berry muffins she brought to share. We also had a puppet show, and today the puppets were TOO LOUD! And they weren't using their kind voices! The Turtles had lots of ideas about how they could speak in kinder ways, and for the rest of the day, the puppets and everyone else was much quieter and kinder.

Fran also introduced the new props for the dress-up area! On of the Turtles ideas had been to get a purple sparkly costume for the dress up area to help they "play stories." The fabric quickly became capes, and there were superheroes aplenty!

There was also some amazing building happening in the room today!

Movement with Missy was so much fun! She brought her balloons!!

On our trip to the logs, we worked on climbing and balancing on the logs. They are such a challenge!

David pushed one log off of another and revealed a whole colony of insects! The children all wanted to photograph them, and took turns using the camera to get close-ups.
