At Morning Meeting, the Turtles also started telling one big collaborative story about themselves and the beanstalk that we created. Some of the characters we thought of include a giant princess, the "real giant", a ghost cat-lion, and a ninja. During Choice Time, the Turtles got to work more on writing stories in the Writing Center, which are now posted on our bulletin board. It is amazing to see how they are working on their writing. Some of them are using lines and symbols for writing, and others are even writing letters! We will keep working on the story in the next few days.
Then we went to Music Class to see Jenny where we pretended to be caterpillars that transformed into beautiful butterflies. She even brought a special caterpillar puppet that also turns into a butterfly!
We also got to sing "At the Aquarium", which is one of our favorite songs!
After saying goodbye to Jenny, the Turtles to for a walk to the Lower School library. When we were there, Gwen, the Librarian, read us a book called My Friend is Sad by Mo Willems. The children even helped read the book by making the same sounds and faces as the characters did in the story. Then each Turtle got a chance to check-out a book to take back with them.
Other activities we did today included:
Playing on the Lower School playground,
putting together a 60 piece puzzle of the United States,
reading stories,
making a "sink closed" sign,
playing store,
and working at the office.
