Welcome Turtle Families!

Welcome to our daily blog! We use it to share daily updates on our classroom, reflections on our learning with children, and photographs. We are so excited that so many people are sharing in the Turtle Day! Extended family, friends, neighbors, educators, etc, are also encouraged to follow the blog!
One of the wonderful aspects of blogging is that it allows real-time interaction between home and school. Is your child talking about what we are doing in school? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you interested (or even an expert!) in something we are studying? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you planning an outing with your child to extend the classroom learning? Leave us a comment and invite other families along!
We also have a section call, "Learn More About..." When we write each post, we tag it with relevant topics. And so if you wanted to see what we have been doing with, for instance, science, you would click on that tag, and see all the posts about science.

Mixing Colors in a Whole New Way!

We began another color mixing project. We made play dough without any color in it, and then used little drops of liquid water color to make a new color. The Turtles used their strong fingers to mix it in, and it seemed to make a marble appearance.

During Inside-Outside Day with the Little Frogs, we worked with the light table, told Tamara Turtle Stories for the children's Portfolios, and worked with math games with Fran.

Then we were ready for a walk over to Lower School Playground. We didn't have our boots on, so we talked about how we would avoid the puddles. One child said, "But we can go over the puddle with the bridge!" They talked about whether it was a puddle or a lake or a stream, and looked for fish.
On we went to the Big Kids Playground, then up to the Lower School playground for some excellent climbing, swinging, digging, and running.

Of course we couldn't resist the hayfield on our way back to the classroom!
