Welcome Turtle Families!

Welcome to our daily blog! We use it to share daily updates on our classroom, reflections on our learning with children, and photographs. We are so excited that so many people are sharing in the Turtle Day! Extended family, friends, neighbors, educators, etc, are also encouraged to follow the blog!
One of the wonderful aspects of blogging is that it allows real-time interaction between home and school. Is your child talking about what we are doing in school? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you interested (or even an expert!) in something we are studying? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you planning an outing with your child to extend the classroom learning? Leave us a comment and invite other families along!
We also have a section call, "Learn More About..." When we write each post, we tag it with relevant topics. And so if you wanted to see what we have been doing with, for instance, science, you would click on that tag, and see all the posts about science.

Finally Fall! Perfect for Inside Outside Day!

Today's finger painting incorporated white and red paint on round mirrors!

The children have figured out how to make designs with their fingernails, and then erase it with their palms. Finger painting is such good preparation for writing as it develops the shoulder, arm, hand and finger muscles that are all needed in the complicated task of writing!

We had a visitor today! Kathy from the Kindergarten Class came to see what we do here in the Early Childhood world. We got to show her how we have a Moment of Silence. It was so quiet. Caimin's brother is in her class, so he took special care of her, showing her around the class.

The Little Frogs joined us for Morning Meeting and Inside-Outside Day. At Morning Meeting, the puppets again needed the children's help in solving a problem. Two puppets did not want to play with a third, and he was so sad! The kids had lots of ideas, and we tried them out. Finally, one child said, "They could just PLAY together!" and that is just what they did.

We found the Sunfowers over at the logs, and were so excited to see our friends!

We also had a good romp in the "Bear Woods."
