Welcome Turtle Families!

Welcome to our daily blog! We use it to share daily updates on our classroom, reflections on our learning with children, and photographs. We are so excited that so many people are sharing in the Turtle Day! Extended family, friends, neighbors, educators, etc, are also encouraged to follow the blog!
One of the wonderful aspects of blogging is that it allows real-time interaction between home and school. Is your child talking about what we are doing in school? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you interested (or even an expert!) in something we are studying? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you planning an outing with your child to extend the classroom learning? Leave us a comment and invite other families along!
We also have a section call, "Learn More About..." When we write each post, we tag it with relevant topics. And so if you wanted to see what we have been doing with, for instance, science, you would click on that tag, and see all the posts about science.

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

All you could hear during morning meeting was gasping and laughter as Paddy, Gabby, and Wills performed a puppet show for our friends!  Gabby began the show with a witch, tiger, lion, and a monkey when all of a sudden a vampire and a ghost came along! Wills then announced that it wasn't really a ghost or vampire, and that they were just wearing masks.  Paddy immediately declared that it was Seamus who was disguising himself!  Not only did the show come to a close with a loud "the end!" from our performers, but also with a vigorous round-of-applause from all the turtles!

Luckily, the Turtles didn't let the rainy day ruin their fun! Our morning was filled with,

writing our friend's names,

tracing our hands,

and making pictures for our mommies.

A gate was made for our new brick house,

which later turned into multiple little block houses!

We continued to play one of our favorite stories, the 3 little pigs and the big bad wolf! Can you guess who the wolf is?

The only way we could stay safe was to hide in our brick house!

Some other happenings in the room included:

making a great big car shelf,

creating rocket ships with our favorite magnatiles,

experimenting with mixing blue and yellow together with waterdroppers,

looking for treasure in the sand table,

and controlling the traffic jam that was in the middle our room!
