Welcome Turtle Families!

Welcome to our daily blog! We use it to share daily updates on our classroom, reflections on our learning with children, and photographs. We are so excited that so many people are sharing in the Turtle Day! Extended family, friends, neighbors, educators, etc, are also encouraged to follow the blog!
One of the wonderful aspects of blogging is that it allows real-time interaction between home and school. Is your child talking about what we are doing in school? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you interested (or even an expert!) in something we are studying? Leave us a comment and let us know! Are you planning an outing with your child to extend the classroom learning? Leave us a comment and invite other families along!
We also have a section call, "Learn More About..." When we write each post, we tag it with relevant topics. And so if you wanted to see what we have been doing with, for instance, science, you would click on that tag, and see all the posts about science.

We Are Family

The Turtles absolutely love taking care of each other and one way they do this is by playing family with brothers and sisters. They have mommies and big sisters who make sure their babies have fun by reading and playing.  Sometimes the Turtles even pretend to be a family of kittens where they make sure that the kittens get enough food to eat and keep them warm!

Besides playing family, the Turtles love helping and cooking so today they made pizza with Fran!  The Turtles got to choose from two different kinds of cheese, mozzarella and cheddar cheese.  Some of them even put both on their pizza.  The best part of makng pizza was eating it during snack!

While some of us chose to help make pizza, others were very busy working around the room.

We looked at our new calander a few times and figured out that on Thursday we meet with Jenny.

Others made houses for rocket ships.

Some of our friends got a chance to tell Turtle Stories, which were read aloud during Morning Meeting.

Then the Turtles helped the Little Frog's look for Jenny and and help check list of places that Jenny might be!

After our busy morning was coming to an end, we went to go see if Jenny was in the John Barnes room...and she was! Since Jenny was away last week, the Turtles were super excited to sing and dance with Jenny again.  We sang some of our favorites songs with Jenny, such as "Let's Go to the Zoo" and "We're Not Scared." She even brought her musical sticks and Hermina!

The Turtles then ventured outside...

to ride bikes with friends,

climb,

hula-hoop,

and go on rocket ships!
